The Foodborne Diseases Active Surveillance Network is the principal foodborne disease component of Center for Disease and Prevention's Emerging Infections Program in collaboration with U.S. Department of Agriculture and Food and Drug Administration. The project consists of active surveillance for foodborne diseases and related epidemiologic studies designed to help public health officials better understand the epidemioly of foodborne diseases in the United States. KFC Corporation Issues A Nationwide Voluntary Recall
An issue that every Food Safety Specialist should keep in mind when doing inspection is accurate, truthful and honest presentation of food products to consumers. This matter is covered by food labeling requirements. Non-compliance to food labeling law is a critical violation and should be considered a serious concern.
KFC Corporation issues a nationwide allergy alert, recalls unlabeled double chocolate chip cakes(Monday, April 18, 2008).The reason for the recall is that such products contain eggs, milk, wheat, and soy ingredients and possibly traces of tree nuts, and are not individually labeled with ingredient information.
